 Oops, sorry, I missed this - thanks Nerijus.

 Unfortunately it doesn't change much as I still don't know what to say...
I don't have XP myself but I did test Mahogany under it and it seemed to
run ok. Did you choose to send a test mail in the wizard? Maybe it just
failed to send it for some reason?
