Hi. Thanks for your reply.
I am going to ignore your other questions because, like I said, I
reinstalled Mahogany replacing the old executable with the new one and now
it works almost completely, OK?

No at all, unless someone buys it for me. I mean, a legitimate copy, no
piracy. Even in that case, I think I'd turn it down gracefully. I always
say : there is nothing in the 98+ series that justifies my spending over
US$ 500.00 on a bloated overly beautified OS and ditching a system that
does absolutely everything I need. I can almost buy a brand new computer
with that much money.
Can you run MS Office? Me too.
Can you browse the Internet? Me too.
Can you send and receive mail? Me too.
Can you use FTP? Me too.
Can you play games? Me too.
Can you listen to music? Me too.
Can you program in Perl, Python or some other language? Me too.
Can you run a Web server and test CGI locally? Me too.
Can you save a mere 400 Mb image of your entire partition, including MS
Office, Perl, PHP, mail system and many programs and documents and restore
the whole shebang from a single CD any time, in less than 10 minutes, if
things go irremediably awry? Oops! I didn't think so. XP alone takes up
over 1 Giga. Well, if you're like most people and buy every single Windows
release, you always have money to spare and must have got yourself a DVD
burner by now, haven't you? On the other hand, I cannot have transparent
menus... oh my! Our concepts of "better" seem to be slightly different.

Sorry about the rant, but you touched a soft sport.

>LE> And that's all. I hope it makes sense to you.

I don't think I have an LMHOSTS file, as I must admit I don't know what it
is. All I can say about that is that I have other software that use my
localhost to send mail without any problems, namely my current e-mail
client, Calypso, and PHP. I've been using Argomail as my single relay
method for about two years, never had any problem with it. I also have
tested a few other e-mail clients, like Eudora, Pegasus, Mail Warrior and
Becky, and I could send mail through 127.0.0.1 with all of them. So I'd be
surprised to find out that there is anything wrong with my system and not
with Mahogany.

Sorry if I cannot provide useful information. Once again, thank you for
your kind reply.
