Open the "Edit|Preferences" dialog, go to the "Helpers" page and fill in
the "External editor" field with something like "gvim %s". Personally, I
use "gvim -c 'so ~/vim/mail.vim' %s" where mail.vim is the file with some
useful mapping for writing mail.
Yo ucan also check the checkbox just below for the ext editor to be
launched automatically whenever you start writing the message. If you don't
do this, you'll have to type Ctrl-E ("Edit|Ext editor") in composer to
invoke it.
