 Please file this is a "wish report" in the bug tracker -- this indeed
looks like a worthwhile feature.

 This is already possible (if "Always run only one instance" in the last
page of the preferences dialog is checked) -- but not for this option, of
course, as it doesn't exist yet :-)

 The foreground colour may be set in the folder tree page. The font
(including the size) can't be set yet but it should be possible and easy to
