I don't think this is desirable but it is expected in the sense that this is how the code works -- Mahogany editor can't edit multipart/alternative messages and, to be frank, I don't see any urgency with allowing this. If you want to just redirect the message, use the "Bounce" command. If *it* doesn't work with any messages, then it would be a real bug (and not just a missing feature).
