Has anyone used Mahogany with POP3 virus scanners (Windows-based, I'm on Win98 in particular). I'm currently trying out NOD32 and only have partial success.
I have two POP3 servers configured -- NOD32 will scan incoming mail from one server but not from the other. I took a look at my folder properties for each address, and they have the same settings except for "Accept unsigned (self-signed) certificates" which is checked for the POP3 server that does not work with the scanner (I don't know if that's enough to stop it from working, but it is a difference). I also tried previously with Trend Micro's PC-cillin, which also did not work. I have limited experience with POP3, but do understand TCP ports and I presume that the virus scanner works as a proxy on port 110. So you'd think it would work no matter the POP3 server (as long as it's coming in port 110, which it is), or no matter the email software. You'd think. Any ideas? Other than contacting the virus scanners' support, that is. Thanks, Trevor Russ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.
