The mechanism to make it work is, AFAIR, the same, but I hadn't had any need
to implement an option for disabling POP/IMAP authentication methods so far
because I wasn't confronted to broken POP/IMAP servers. The corresponding
option for SMTP is needed with quite a few servers, unfortunately (although
things start getting better...).

I believe it is. So do I understand correctly that your problem has been
solved? If not, I can always add a similar option for POP but I'd prefer not
to do it unless really necessary.

 Thanks,
