Hello, I'm in the process of changing my EMail-address and ISP. So at the moment I need several EMail-addresses and - worse - two different SMTP-settings. While the first address and SMTP-sever has been set up in mahogany all the time and works nicely, I have big problems to set up a second set. I'm using mahogany on Linux (using the 'latest'-tar-ball from the evening of Sept. 15. and wxwidgets updated to head of cvs trunk at the same evening) Note that I'm using outbox ! (I suspect this to be part of the problem)
What I did: - I set up a further identity. (I use several with different quotes and reply-to but so far all with the same server) - Problem: 1 The high of the settings-dialog can only be made a little bit smaller than the "default". So the buttons on the bottom get covered by the KDE-bar. - On the "Network" page I enter the address of the SMTP-server. The server uses TLS with password and name. So I enter the name (leaving the password empty to get asked) The sever is one of those broken exim-servers, so I enter 'PLAIN' in the list of protocols _not_ to use. - Problem 2: After "ok"-ing the box and reentering, the string of protocols not to use is empty again. (This effect doesn't happen for the "global" setting) - Problem 3: I had sessions where mahogany constantly popped up dialog boxes. (E.g. the select-box for the "Sent-Mail" folder) _below_ all other windows. (Funnily enough this doesn't happen at the moment :-( - I compose a mail, using the new identity and put it in the outbox. If I look at the message there, the mail-address etc. seems ok. - Problem 4: I go online and try to send my mail out. But mahogany goes the the SMTP-server set in the global setting and there - sure enough - fails with the mail with the "wrong" sender-domain. Any tricks to circumvent those problems ? Is there another, better approach to using more than one SMTP-server ? TIA Martin ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE.
