With an even numer of characters in the password it:

a) won't save it b) Pops up a warning box with the above message anytime
one uses a function that tries to access that "not-saved" password (ie.
going back into folder preferences or trying to send an email using SMTP
authentication where SMTP user ID and password are in the folder
preferences --- you may have noted from my address that I use a different
one for EVERY {gerald.mahu, gerald.mahd, gerald.postfix, etc.} list that
I'm on so every folder on my system has different preferences in that
regard -- I use the SMTP AUTH to make sure the envelope sender is set
correctly even though all of those addresses get dropped into a single
account on my primary IMAP server).

Ummmmm -- on the mahogany.sourceforge.net downloads page. The link to the
daily cvs tarball there is also broken -- the files have changed from
tar.gz to tar.bz2 but the link still says tar.gz. Took me a minute to
figure that one out -- you ever tried to get the whole directory listing of
the http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cvstarballs/ tree to load into a browser?
<grin>

I'll grab this one later and then test the new M.exe. I won't be back at
this particular machine until Friday so it will be this weekend before I
get to it. I'm going to leave my laptop alone for the moment so I can use
it to respon if something breaks. When this one is working the way I want
it to I'll test moving the text-file config to the laptop to see how
portable it makes the install.

I'm working on setting up an environment where I can build the latest CVS
code on my WinXP box but I don't have the full Visual Studio with the IDE.
I'm going to test out the codeblocks IDE and see if I can build with that
since no-one has posted info on a command-line build with Visual C++
without the IDE. (http://www.codeblocks.org/). I just reformatted this
machine to get a clean environment. that's when I bumped into the error. I
was running 0.64 before with no problems. I liked the "fuzzy mouse" action
of 0.64. Can't seem to find that in 0.66. I keep scrolling my folder tree
because I forget to click in the message list window before using the mouse
wheel -- 0.64 used to move focus to the message list window when one moved
the mouse over it.

Thanks,

Gerald
