Success, but an embarrassing one. I did not realize that I had to open the account properties for my workplace IMAP server to separately set SSL use there. I was trying to work in the global Network options.
1. Might SSL use be offered as a global option the Network dialogue, to turn on SSL by default for new accounts? 2. If not, perhaps there be some clue for the clueless on the global Network options page? Question: While trying to figure this out, I noticed that other clients allow one to specify a port for each IMAP account. Is this superflous, and if not, how does one do it in M?
