The question is not whether the manufacturer is willing to develop their own
drivers for a particular OS, but rather whether they are willing to release
programming information for their hardware without the recipient forced to
sign a NDA (Non disclosure agreement).

I suggest that you change your decision as NOT to buy products for which
technical documentation that is required to materialise  the advertised
capabilities of the product/component is not made avaialble so
programmers can write necessary low level code for them.

Prominent among these "Clandestine" companies is SiS. Their policy goes
even as far as the VGA department is keeping information secret from
other employees. Most of the SiS code in the Kernel and XFree86 are
just pure guesses as admitted by the programmers themselves.
