Dear fellow ILUG-Kochi members, Perhaps we could have LINUX GAMING as the main theme for the stall. Entertainment is one of the main reasons why people buy home PCs. Now that Linux can show videos and play music excellently, even better than Windows; we should perhaps now concentrate on the gaming segement.Gaming is one reason why youngsters in particular tend to shy away from Linux since the major game studios like Electronic Arts release their game titles only for Windows/Xbox/PlayStation and not Linux. So we could perhaps run, say Quake or Unreal Tournament or some other game with heavy-duty graphics and show everyone that we can play games on Linux too.(I'm thinking of a Gentoo distro here). This is just a suggestion. Regards, Toby. "WE NEED MORE HIGH QUALITY GAMES FOR LINUX FOR IT TO BREAK INTO THE DESKTOP SEGMENT. LINUX HAS ALREADY BROKEN INTO THE SERVER SEGMENT AND ONLY THE DESKTOP SEGMENT REMAINS." -Toby Joseph v have fixed any agenda as such for ilugicochin. so it will be upto to u to do anything to promote FS. on the other hand, SPACE trivandrum will be havin a workshop in open source design guidelines.so u might want want to steer clear from that idea. regards, Cherian

Please let us know which are the areas of interest which the Model Engineering College is concentrating on, so that our members can look into areas of mutual interest in setting up the stall. regards Jay Jacob Send instant messages to your online friends http://in.messenger.yahoo.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
