Hello All,
I do it this way.
Pass "vga=788" as parameter to the kernel.
The number is the resolution for the framebuffer. To select
your own value pass "vga=ask".
title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.26-1-686
root (hd0,7)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686 root=/dev/sda8 vga=788
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-1-686
Boot the new kernel with framebuffer enabled. If you have frame
buffer support, you might see a tux on the top left corner (have not
checked with lenny kernel).
Once you are booted, goto any of the ttys (terminals) (Ctrl-Alt-F1) to
(Ctrl-Alt-F6)
You can use fbxine or mplayer to view the movie.
fbxine is available as xine-console package in lenny.
Hope this helps :)
Thank You
Regards

If you are imagining that I have found something, you are wrong. I
still don't have the solution. But I know that Framebuffer support is
to be enabled in the Linux kernel.
.when I tried cacaview filename.jpg , the output doesn't look like
a picture. But the screenshot given here is almost the same as the
picture( I think so). What may be the reason.
I've also tried mplayer -vo caca filename.ogv and the audio
output was perfect , but the video was some squares and
letters.....I expect more from you.
The reply send by Mahesh Aravind answers these questions. Thanks Mahesh.
BTW how to take a screenshot in terminal mode?
I don't know how to take screenshot in ttys. I took that screenshot by
pressing Prt Scr button in gnome-terminal.

Anybody tried to view image files and movies in console (tty)?
I'm able to view it using caca libraries. The following is the
command.
$cacaview abc.jpg
It is working but the image is not displayed properly. Please
see the attachment.
Also I have tried to play movies in the console using the
following command.
$mplayer -vo caca abc.flv
This also has the same problem. Is there anything I have to
configure in caca to display the image properly?
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Jos Collin
