1. Nessus
2. IPtables
3. SELinux
4. how fast the bugs (security / kernel ) are fixed
5. Nmap
6. Architecture difference with certain other virus friendly OSes
7. Stability
8. Scalability
9 Virtualization support which can be used by large organizations
10. The total cost of ownership to setup a secure office with GNU solution
is much less compared
to others
11. Its easy to push updates to GNU based solution
12. Samba / NFS
13. File System encryption
14. interoperability with various protocols
15. availability of various network monitoring tools for someone who is
managing security
16. FreeRADIUS - there will be Diameter servers too but I am not aware.
I think there are lot more add in the security area and we can add
applications too - like gpg, FF or even the encryption support in pidgin /
gaim
