Hello Bobinson, Anoop and Mailinglist Members

As you know the stall will be functioning on 8th, hence if all
of you can bring in your 2 cents/paisa :) on 7th evening to
ILUG Meeting venue for setting up the machines and also
be present on 8th ( or give some mentoring to others who
are planning to be present on 8th ) it would be great.

If we can go as planned, ours would the best stall for sure.

My 2 cents :
Big brother attitude and privacy concerns in Kerala and India ??
What should we do about it ?

Contact me @ 9995717112 or Sreenadh ( 9747173432 ) for coordination.

ILUG Members @ the stall :
Hari
Manu
Sreenadh
Sameer
Kevin Sha

Thank You

The points I can think of very different !

They are given below.

1. Nessus
2. IPtables
3. SELinux
4. how fast the bugs (security / kernel ) are fixed
5. Nmap
6. Architecture difference with certain other virus friendly OSes
7. Stability
8. Scalability
9 Virtualization support which can be used by large organizations
10. The total cost of ownership to setup a secure office with GNU solution is much less compared
    to others
11. Its easy to push updates to GNU based solution
12. Samba / NFS
13. File System encryption
14. interoperability with various protocols
15. availability of various network monitoring tools for someone who is managing security
16. FreeRADIUS - there will be Diameter servers too but I am not aware.

I think there are lot more add in the security area and we can add applications too - like gpg, FF or even the encryption support in pidgin / gaim

My 2 paisa :-)

Yeah ; install fest would be outta theme i guess?

something like pgp/gpg .How we can publish our key on a key-server
.how we can configure thunderbird/gmail to send and read
    encrypted/signed emails .

Importance of use of https/tls encrypted connections while sending
    sensitive info etc.

    My 2 cents :)
