Hello Bobinson,
Take it easy, and if it my fault, I apologize.
My first question was regarding an opensource application - Firefox.
My explanation on installation - The fonts mentioned are GPL GNU /
Public domain.
I agree the OS I mentioned is not opensourse, but I remember the group
discussing lot of opensource apps problems on a closed source OS.
So I do not think the discussion gone totally offtopic. Afterall we
were helping people who can't read unicode fonts.

And on a diff topic, we know each other too :)

I am no GNU fanatic. For example I am dare to say that Photoshop is
the most user friendly product out there in the image editing world
and Gimp UI show follow suite. But at the same time, my idea about
about a Libre / Freedom oriented group is discussions about freedom
and liberty and not otherwise. At the same time Dinkar's discussion
was about adding little bit freedom to an OS which is otherwise not
free. Its my duty as a list member to cross check whether non-free
discussions are allowed here - especially when I am not 100% aware
of the list rules.
@Devadas OT - it seems we have met once. Few years back and I am
still using the Debian distro you gave me :-) though not sure.

Bobinson,
I have replied to Dinkar's query since I'm not a Lin-fanatic
rest is the duty of group admin...
Dinkar,
If the group have any issue on discussing the same, plz make
separate thread including all those who responded to ur query

Bobinson, "why so serious" :) lol
Why should we go soooooo strict in the list ?
If we keep on discussing things like installing Debian in text mode
or configuring a router, firewall and stuff, why not something
simple that is useful for the common man ?
The discussion started because I had a tough time reading unicode
websites in Firefox. I searched for months and checked various links
before posting in this mailing list.
I found there are people who are having same issue, and that is how
'Safari' came to the the discussion, not intentional.
The fonts I referred -
Meera - is a GNU GPL font and
AnjaliOldLipi - is the only public domain font available for Malayalam
So it is not a big crime I guess ?
Anyway, leaving it to Sameer :)
Best Regards
Din.
