Just to add my two cents... It would be a very desirable feature in the web interface. The only other option as of now is to unsubscribe the user and then re-subscribe him or her via the mass subscription interface. The big problem with that approach is that it sets all user settings (digest, mail delivery, etc.) to the list defaults.
