Because Mailman doesn't like domains without at least one dot.

The create CGI gets the domain from the host name in the URL. If you go
to <http://dur.bounceme.net/cgi-bin/mailman/create> it should work. If
you can't go there, see
<http://mail.python.org/pipermail/mailman-users/2012-August/073967.html>.
