Any thing I can do when rerunning index'ing to track down if/what
bug in mailmate importer ?
Yes, there is a debug flag for `mdimport`.
Just use `-d1` to be exact :-)
Or '-d4' to see just how much scrollback Terminal will tolerate...
I'm currently about halfway through importing the ~450k messages I
have loaded into MM and have found one oddity: Spotlight doesn't know
the "Author" field (which it uses as the first part of the "Name"
field in search results) until you've opened a message in MM.
so I just did -d1 and after several tens of minutes (not sure how many)
I ended up with this:
2015-05-18 15:27:09.383 mdimport[48652:15116610] Imported
'/Users/max/Messages/IMAP/max.andersen%[email protected]/INBOX.mailbox/Messages/974598.eml'
of type 'com.apple.mail.email' with plugIn
/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/Library/Spotlight/MailMateSpotlight.mdimporter.
[1] 48652 segmentation fault mdimport -d1 ~/Messages
If I run mdimport directly on this file nothing is printed out though.
I can run with -d4 but my guess is that will take hours if not days to
complete ;)
Let me know if you want me to do that or have some other suggestion!
