Hmm. I'm sure I tried that, but yes that works! Thanks. > Workaround: try selecting some whitespace or something? Yes, I do that but it's too easy to forget ... > I'm afraid that's probably a minority opinion, even on this mailing > list... People who write a lot of email every day, find few things as > infuriating as replies without any context! Especially where mailing > lists are concerned. Which is why I quote selectively like we're doing here. It's not so much a problem on mailing lists anyway, which are more often than not text only and people are generally more aware that they are engaging in a 'conversation' and trim their quotes accordingly. But in day-to-day work mail it's not lack of context that's a problem - it's too much context. > MailMate's option to select what you want to reply to is very handy but > I usually just reply to the whole message and delete the context I don't > need. That seems to be a bit buggy here - hence my initiating this thread. When I reply to a message with a lot of HTML in it and then delete the content I don't need, MM seems to leave bits of HTML behind in the markdown preview window that won't go away. It may be just a display bug that wouldn't actually get sent, but irritating nevertheless ...
