Thank you Marc and Benny, it finally worked as you say : for some reason
I did not drag the mailboxes correctly, and as a consequence they did
not seem to move. But now everything is fine.

Did you try to just drag them to the place you prefer ?
Just to clarify, the order of IMAP accounts in all of the standard
mailboxes (like the Inbox) follows the ordering under Sources in the
mailbox list (where you can drag'n'drop to reorder). Smart mailboxes
can be dragged anywhere you want.
