I see the big lists of nefarious IPs coming through this group so figured my
hosting provider may be interested in them so that they could head them off for
all their clients. Turns out they were not bothered at all, I could block them
from my server (which I do) but they would not.

I'm assuming they pillage IP ranges till they are pretty much blocked
everywhere and then sell them on to the unsuspecting?

I met an admin at 1und1 through a mutual friend. When I found out the admin
worked at 1und1 I asked him about abuse/fraud/etc as I was curious what a
fellow admin was seeing. The fellow seemed completely ignorant of the fact that
their services were purchased for the purposes of committing fraud or abusing
others' systems. The topic wasn't even on his radar. I guess as long as the
money keeps coming VPS providers have no problem turning a blind eye to what
their clients do.
