I do this.  For a corporate email system is makes a lot of sense.   I shouldn't be receiving email externally with a From: domain which is local.

We've had some very targeted scams, and it is just 1 line in the defence.


It will get relaxed a bit soon, because some of our email is getting outsourced, and so I'll be checking for auth or valid DKIM.
