Since the November update to the Gmail App, EAS support has been completely non-functional: issue tracked here https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/461996029 with absolutely no response from Google. This is a major bug!
If anyone from Google reads this, please forward to the right people internally - I'm surprised this wasn't properly tested before release. Scott
