This is a very minor and infrequent annoyance. I sometimes want to drag an image from Safari into Mailplane to attach it to an email I'm composing. When I do so, the image is always converted to a TIFF. If I drag from Safari to my desktop, the file does not convert to a TIFF. To keep the image in its original format, I end up dragging from Safari to the desktop, and then from the desktop into Mailplane.
