Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately, I don't think optimization quite
addresses the problem-- I don't want the images optimized or in any
way modified.   If I'm dragging a JPEG out of Safari, I'd like the
same JPEG attached without any scaling or re-encoding (and consequent
loss of quality).  It seems this should be possible, since as I said
dragging to the desktop from Safari simply copies the original file.
