It occurred to me after sending this that maybe I should hold off on being so excited until I use it offline.
It doesn't seem to be working for me yet, probably because it's still syncing. Hint: you'll have to turn off the setting to "Show Offline banner when offline" under the advanced settings :) I'll report back later once it's fully synced.
