Hi there, As a quick work-around, you can set the growl notifications to stay on the screen until you dismiss them: Open the Growl prefpane, in Applications select Mailplane, click Configure, and set "Stay on screen" for the "New mail" notification type to always.
Having notifications about mail that you don't care about stick on the screen may get annoying quickly, but AFAICT, it's the easiest way to get what you asked for (-: Hope that helps, Andreas.
