Hi Ruben and all, I have installed Safari 4 on my Mac and played it today. And I don't active Gmail Offline function. It seems to work fine with Mailplane 2.0.3 without installing Google Gears. I can sent and receive mails with images, pdf and RTF text via Mailplane as usual. I doubt that the problem could be related to Google Gears.
