Mailplane uses Google's "ClientLogin" interface to check user names and passwords. Unfortunately, this interface caused trouble for some users: Timeouts, or bad responses were the result. Sometimes it could even cause a crash or the inbox couldn't be loaded. Mailplane now correctly detects these problems and reverts to the "Sign in" Google page if needed. UPDATED: Translations - Spanish - Romanian INFO: "Gmail Offline" I'm very excited about the "Gmail Offline" lab feature! The upcoming Mailplane 2.1 beta will version will support it. If you like to try and test it, please visit the beta download page. (Important: Safari 4 and Gmail Offline are not yet compatible) INFO: Safari 4 beta Mailplane uses the same WebKit as Safari. If you install the new Safari 4 beta release, you'll get better performance.
