I had the multiple boxes enabled - the problem with that was the
change in focus to each mailbox as it loaded. I had the feature
enabled and then disabled it.

The auto-scrolling is happing for me despite having disabled the
multiple in-boxes.

Since the auto-scrolling started, I have also had my apps account get
logged out so that my notifier no longer registers it. My free gmail
account seems to be working fine.
