I searched the Calendar lab feature group and found a few similar problem
reports, here's one:

As you can use the lab feature in Safari, it doesn't seem to be related to
your Gmail account. But, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work inside
Mailplane.

The 2.1-beta does improve the way cookies are handled:

Would you mind giving it try? You can always go back to 2.0.10.
