Growl: Mailplane can use Growl to show new mail notifications. Check out http://growl.info for more information. Growl works with many different application, not just with Mailplane. Mailto: When Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc. display a mailto: they will open the link in the default email application, in your case this is Mailplane. To test it, try this page: http://mailplaneapp.com/contact and click the 'Support Email Address' link. Hope this helps.
