Downgrading is not such a good idea, as there would be some important Lion and
Gmail fixes in the latest version.
Do you still experience the slow switching performance?
Which Mac OS X version are you using?
Have enabled "Use System WebKit" in your advanced preferences?
Do you have Safari 5.1 on you Mac?
