I believe my problem is different (although I also suffer from losing my session in circumstances similar to those described in the other thread).
My problem is specifically to do with attachments, which then cause the session to die. It is true that once the attachment fails, I'm stuck in limbo-land like those in the other thread. This never happened in the past, and none of my settings have been changed. I use Mailplane as a simple wrapper around gmail (no plugins, etc). The only non-native feature that I use is a custom HTML signature, which has not changed in more than six months. Given all that, I'm puzzled about why Mailplane can't process attachments, but Chrome/FF/ Safari can.
