I'm having the same problem. The problem is that the badge notifications
have suddenly gotten very slow to update rather than updating nearly
immediately. I just re-tested:
- Followed both approaches to resetting cookies ("Reset Gmail Session" and
delete cookies in Finder)
- Re-logged-in
- Sent myself an email (from one Gmail account to another).
- New email showed up in main window almost immediately (good)
- Took 1 min for new email to show up in badge (bad)
- Read the email
- Took *6 minutes* for the email to stop being shown as new in the badge.
(bad)
I do have 2-factor authentication enabled for my account, don't know if
that makes a difference. Hasn't caused problems for me in the past though.
