Broken for me as well. When a new compose window (in bottom right corner) is open and I drag something onto the Mailplane window, it opens a "real" new compose window (proper OS X window)... but the file is not attached! When I drag a file on the newly open window, it still says "attach files to this message" on hover but nothing is attached.
