I've just encountered the same problem today. I'm on Mountain Lion with all 
updates installed. No problems with Google or Chrome in general, just 
within Mailplane. I've tried all the fixes suggested in this thread, but 
without success. Every time I try to sign in, returns to this screen. Any 
help appreciated.
