Just a short update on an old thread, It seems that the latest version of
Boomerang now has support for exactly this feature, it's called Inbox Pause
- http://www.boomeranggmail.com/inboxpause/

Any idea when the embedded boomerang plugin for Mailplane will be updated
to include this feature?

Also, it seems that Mailplane could natively support this now as it's
possible to do via the Gmail API - from boomerang's FAQ:

"*How does it work? Does Boomerang divert or hold onto my emails while my
Inbox is paused?*
Inbox Pause harnesses the magic of the new Gmail Settings API, filters, and
some other fun things to temporarily hide your email from your Inbox and
bring them back when you want them. The emails are still kept inside your
Gmail, they're just hidden from view inside a special label we create. None
of the emails you receive when your Inbox is paused are stored by Boomerang.

*Why does using the Inbox Pause feature request new permissions?*
Boomerang needs access to the Settings features in the Gmail API in order
to temporarily hide messages from your Inbox. (More specifically, Inbox
Pause relies, in part, on creating filters, which requires this Settings
permission.)
"

Currently Boomerang's free version only allows you to pause/unpause and set
an autoresponder while paused, however you need to move to the 14.99
monthly plan (which seems WAY too much) to get advanced scheduling features
so it would be much cooler to see Mailplane have this same functionality
natively as part of the app itself, I really think this is a killer feature!
