Right, I didn't run Solaris 8 on it.
Precicely, Solaris8 is at bit picky about drivers so it was a bit of a
trick getting Solaris8 to run on vmware, but as vmware states, the
support is "experimental".
Anyway, as I said, I've got a running VM and are willing to share the
image if anyone needs it.
