But to do it, you would have to degrade the disks down to a

My box running CentOS and VMware Server 2.0 which run the VM with
Solaris8 isn't that slow compared to the host OS, but I've got a old P4
Celeron with a IDE disk so I'm not sure if that data is anything to
compare with...
