I used mairix to search for a particular Message-Id, expecting one message to be returned. Instead I was suprised to see hundreds returned. On closer inspection, the ID was structured like aanlkti=manymorecharact...@mail.gmail.com, so my search was "mairix m:aanlkti=manymorecharact...@mail.gmail.com", which was treated the same as if I had run "mairix m:AANLkTi=". "AANLkTi" is a common prefix of many Gmail Message-Ids, so I got search results from lots of Gmail users.

Is there any way to tell mairix to treat special matching characters literally? There's nothing in the man page, and I tried "mairix m:aanlkti\=manymorecharact...@mail.gmail.com", but that didn't match anything. According to RFC 2822, all of mairix's special matching characters except "," are explicitly allowed in the local part of Message-Ids.

Mairix 0.21 in Ubuntu Hardy, if it matters.
