Hi everyone, Fairfield University has a sailing team in its infancy, and we are looking to purchase boats so we can start practicing on our own. The Yale team and Zack Leonard has been very gracious in allowing us to join their practices on a weekly basis, and that has enabled our team to get out on the water and attract more members. Now we are looking to take another step by building our own fleet. Several local yacht clubs were very receptive to the idea of hosting our team, now we need the boats to make it a reality.
Unfortunately, we are on a very limited budget, as most club teams are. The administration here is skeptical about how smart of an investment a bunch of sailboats (much less a coach) could possibly be. Therefore, we are totally dependent on fundraising and alumni support. I have been checking out the listings of boats for sale on the various ICSA lists, but so far very little has come up within our price range. If anyone knows of any boats for sale, has any advice to offer, or anything else, we would really appreciate it. Hopefully you will see Fairfield out on the water this spring!
