Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am the President of the VT Sailing club. I am ecstatic to be able
to tell you that all current members of the Sailing program down here
are safe and sound. We have had to wait on the entire list because of
number of member of our program who are not the most active, but we are
all safe. Even though we are all safe, the club in its entirety has
connections to each and every victim from friend, to dorm-mate, to
future roommate next year, and then teachers or people from their home
town. We are all connected. Those of you who are able to take part
today in national orange and maroon day today, I applaud you and thank
you for your support.
As we finish up this year, please keep us in your minds and in your
prayers. All of us will have a hard time trying to accomplish much when
we get back knowing that 32 two of our professors and peers are gone,
but as you have seen, we are a resilient community who will continue to
pull together to complete the year. We are the Hokie Nation and we will
Prevail. We are Virginia Tech!
