To: The team members from HU, AU, SJC, SSU, WM, VT, MD, UVA, VIL

Regarding the CNU Clinic, March 15th & 16th.

All,

Please feel free to bring as many or as few people as you wish, and all
teams including UVA and VIL are welcome. Consider yourselves "overbooks." We
may
be crowded, but we'll make do. This event is being conducted for one purpose
- to help your teams in any way we can. With the loss of support from the big
teams for the MAISA Clinic, we are presenting this as a regional
replacement. It is our hope that the smaller teams in the Central and North
Regions will
conduct similar events in the future to offset waning big team support.

Our planned topics will include, but are not limited to, team organization,
proper boat rigging and care, team obligations to MAISA, boat speed, boat
handling, tactics, team practice, and any other topics you may wish to have
included.

We are going to be fortunate to have John Griffin from William & Mary, Jim
White from CNU, Sam Ficksman from Hampton, myself, and probably Skip Kovacs
from St. John's. Thus, we will be able to handle many subjects at the same
time.

We have both 420s and FJs at CNU and we will address the differences in the
two classes as well as allowing sailing time in both. We will be running some
short races to familiarize new people with collegiate style racing. These
races will be for educational purposes only. We may not even keep score!

Our plans now call for a free lunch on Saturday and a relatively early
finish on Sunday for an early return home.

I will also suggest that each team bring with them one of the small USB
flash drives. This will allow us to download some of the organizational
programs
we use at CNU along with other helpful printouts for you to take back with
you.

We don't have all the answers, but we certainly expect to provide some help
to your programs.
Any suggestions you can offer for additional topics will be appreciated.

Best regards and we'll see you all on the 15th.

Dan Winters
Head Sailing Coach, CNU
