What I want to do is play my 400 or so MIDI files to see what I might want to 
delete. What I want to happen is that I can open a file, knowing that the 
correct port is set.

It seems as though setting up a port is only useful when setting up tracks. 
That's very nice when building a sequence but not for my particular application.

I tried MIDIPORT Config but it was not able to find all ports in Windows 7. 
Even with XP it only found the GS Wavetable, which is quite useless.
