A fair point, sorry.  I'm using "cmd.exe" only (WinXP SP2).

Coreutils 5.3.0 from http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/.

gcc 3.4.5 (mingw special) from http://www.mingw.org/.

Make was built with "build_w32 gcc".
