Hello all--

Thank you for the Dryden, Paul, I had a terrible time with him at
university but I will try his Aeneid.

As for my comments on Virgil's style -- when I said plain I meant I thought
his language was regarded as being more vernacular than was the style at
the time when he was alive and writing. I know he's not plain, not even in
English (I am trying to learn Latin so I can read & compare him to other
Roman authors).

Also--I did try to find the archives but they are currently down, so excuse
me if I am stirring up old discussions.

Sincerely

Lena Friesen
