+1 to the applications from me.
What about an additional parameter for the guis, ups sorry -
applications, to define, if its an application or a container for wmss? So
we could hide them at Edit_GUI_elements or display them in different
colors at WMS_GUI_settings to have a clearly arranged admin
GUI/APPLICATION?

Subject: Re: [Mapbender-dev] Motion to change terminology:
"Application"instead of "GUI"
Hi,
Motion to change Mapbender terminology from "GUI" to "Application".
i absolutly agree, 'GUI' is not the right term we should use, but i'm not
sure whether 'Application' is the best we can find. As Arnulf mentions,
wms_africa is not a 'Gui', but is this an application? Don't think so.
(+)0 i think...
Ciao

jep, another criterion to have more differentiated 'container' (guis or
applications or whatever) will solve some problems!
But we have to define some categories.
We will need applications (:-)) for
* maps
* administration
* permission-handling
* ...???
Back to find the right term:
Thomas is right that 'application' maybe a little bit unclear in some cases.
But I don't know a better term. Or let's call them EWS (eierlegende
Wollmilch...).

Uli
Hi devs,
for me gui was fine, but I also understand the arguments for
applications. I am worried that the change is too confusing for the
users and application does not name all the states Mapbender can come
around too.
so my vote is 0
