i absolutly agree, 'GUI' is not the right term we should use, but i'm

jep, another criterion to have more differentiated 'container' (guis or
applications or whatever) will solve some problems!
But we have to define some categories.
We will need applications (:-)) for
* maps
* administration
* permission-handling
* ...???
Back to find the right term:
Thomas is right that 'application' maybe a little bit unclear in some
cases.
But I don't know a better term. Or let's call them EWS (eierlegende
Wollmilch...).

for me gui was fine, but I also understand the arguments for
applications. I am worried that the change is too confusing for the
users and application does not name all the states Mapbender can come
around too.

currently the vote count is four +1, one +0, one 0 and one abstain (Uli did not vote and only commented). This is enough to carry the motion but we are in no hurry.
There were some comments that "application" might not be the best term but no alternative was given. If you have another idea, please suggest it (except EWS).
